like with the office refrigerator, things going into the server closet get a "toss by" date put on them. our IMAP machine is getting a little long in the tooth (3+ years old) so it's going to get recycled while *we* have the time and energy to replace it. if i wait till something fails inevitably it'll happen right when i need it most and have the least amount of time and patience to deal. see #2 on this list:

luckily, in the inBetweenTime, some enterprising soul has taken our ridiculous IMAP configuration nightmare of years gone by and turned it into something simple:

we'll see if i like the software as much tomorrow after it's been put into production :P
